Partner's Peking Peregrinations
Rod spent the last two weeks on a speaking tour of Universities in Shanghai and Beijing, culminating in an address at the Icograda Congress: Xin.

He was astounded at how quickly China is rising to the design challenges, and how eager they are to become a world power in design. The Icograda Congress in particular was a really big deal. Enourmous posters advertising the event lined highways, and the opening night was a massive event, concluding with a massive fireworks display.

The country is embracing design and considered creativity more and more all the time, universities are committing seemingly limitless resources to design programs  and the quality of work being produced by studios in China is cutting edge.

Just as "Made in Japan" has gone from meaning useless trash to indicating high caliber of craftsmanship, it looks like how we perceive "Made in China" will soon change.
