The ten designers selected - all under age 35 - were first nominated by their peers and then selected by the magazine. Nominees had to be an "extremely talented, up-and-coming designer who is producing highly creative and strategic design work."
From the magazine article:
Angela Hot | 26 | Vancouver
The next time you take a stroll through Granville Island, check out the signs. Angela Hot, 26, has left her mark on the street, parking and wayfinding signage for the Vancouver shopping district. "It had all different styles [of signage] so we created new custom street signs," says Hot. A senior designer at Ion Branding + Design, Hot studied visual communication design at the University of Washington before joining the Vancouver agency in 2008. Other projects that she worked on in 2010 include communication materials for the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health and the identity, collateral and signage for Greens, a new organic grocery store in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighbourhood.
