Ion Brand Design and Herrainco Brand Strategy + Design—two of British Columbia’s most established branding and design firms—are merging.

Herrainco’s founding principal, Casey Hrynkow, and her team will join Ion on April 7, 2015. The company will operate as Ion Brand Design, and will continue to focus on growing as a premiere place branding and destination marketing specialist in the Pacific Northwest.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Casey and her team to Ion,” says Rod Roodenburg, Partner and Creative Director of Ion Brand Design. “Herrainco has been a leader in the national design landscape for the last 30-plus years, and the expertise they bring to this partnership will provide huge benefits to our team and clients for many years to come.”

“As an expanded team, we will have greater capacity, a deeper breadth of experience and a wider range of creative expertise to bring to each project, which will create a more integrated and fresh experience for our clients,” says David Coates, Partner and Design Strategist at Ion Brand Design. “We are elated to have the incredible Herrainco team joining us and look forward to reaching new heights as a place branding agency together.”

The decision to unite was reached after several years of converging specializations in place branding and destination marketing, and was based on Ion and Herrainco’s shared vision to facilitate progressive change through the creation of more livable communities.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled at this next stage in our evolution,” says Casey Hrynkow, co-founder and partner of Herrainco Brand Strategy + Design. “Ours is a synergistic team, one which will offer our clients the highest level of ethical and environmental standards in creative design. Together, we will provide even more valuable contributions to our region by building better, closer, friendlier and more sustainable communities.”

The expanded capacity, experience and portfolio that Herrainco brings in the merger will further cement Ion as a premiere place branding and destination marketing specialist in the Pacific Northwest.
